By accessing or using ZeroPDF, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy applicable to the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory rights or protections granted to you under applicable law.

ZeroPDF is a web app and PWA for PDF operations such as merge, split, compress, protect, OCR, watermark, and visual signature placement.

The product was created by Luís Cardoso, an independent developer in Portugal. The core PDF operations are designed to run locally in the user's browser or device.

Account, authentication, and subscription handling are separate from local document processing. Under normal operation, PDF contents are not received by ZeroPDF servers in order to perform those local actions.

When you use account or subscription features, you are responsible for:

• Providing truthful, current, and sufficiently complete account information.
• Protecting access to your account, browser, and device.
• Not sharing credentials or access methods in a way that conflicts with these Terms.
• Understanding that account and session handling are managed through Clerk.
• Recognizing that some tools may work without an account, while Pro features depend on eligibility or an active subscription.

If you use the service on behalf of an organization or in relation to a minor, you should have appropriate authority to do so under applicable law.

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use ZeroPDF for legitimate personal or professional purposes.

That license does not transfer any ownership rights in the service, code, design, brand, or protected ZeroPDF materials.

When you use ZeroPDF with your own or third-party documents, you are responsible for:

• Keeping the relevant rights in the documents and having permission to process them.
• Not using the service for unlawful content or to violate third-party rights.
• Understanding that ZeroPDF does not receive or store PDFs during normal local operations.
• Understanding that ZeroPDF cannot recover local documents after processing ends on your device.
• Keeping originals and suitable backups before replacing or distributing exported results.
• Reviewing outputs carefully before using them in professional, legal, medical, financial, or administrative contexts.

ZeroPDF offers, among others, Merge, Split, Compress, Protect, OCR, Watermark, and Signature tools. Compatibility may vary depending on the PDF, browser, available memory, operating system, and device.

Corrupted documents, incompatible protected files, very large files, or PDFs with complex features may not work as expected. Compression can reduce quality, OCR can contain errors, exported files should be reviewed, and password protection also depends on password strength and PDF reader compatibility.

The signature tool can place a visual representation of a signature in a PDF.

That does not automatically mean the output is an advanced or qualified electronic signature, and it does not guarantee legal validity for every purpose or jurisdiction. The user should verify the requirements applicable to the document, recipient, and relevant legal framework.

The application and pricing page describe the current Free and Pro feature sets, along with any limits that apply to files, batches, subscriptions, or access to specific tools.

As of the date of these Terms, ZeroPDF presents core local tools in the Free plan and advertises additional capabilities such as OCR, signatures, watermarking, password protection, and broader file or batch allowances in the Pro context.

Features may evolve over time. Material changes do not remove mandatory user rights, and the most current reference for plan contents is the pricing page and the application itself. /pricing.

Eligible users may keep temporary confirmation of Pro access offline for up to seven days after online validation.

After that period, a connection is required for validation again. Cancellation, downgrade, or loss of eligibility are reflected when the application validates online again. Offline Pro access is not a perpetual purchase or permanent license.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Price, billing period, and the essential purchase terms should be presented before checkout is confirmed.

When the subscription is presented as recurring in checkout, it may renew automatically according to the option selected. The user may manage or cancel the subscription through the available billing portal when applicable.

Any continued access after cancellation depends on the status reflected by Stripe and the application for the already paid period.

Prices, currency, and applicable taxes should be shown in checkout where relevant.

The user is responsible for providing correct billing information. Tax and documentation obligations may vary depending on location, customer type, and the applicable legal framework.

Subscription cancellation may be made available through the billing portal where applicable. Support requests related to billing may also be sent to support.

Mandatory consumer rights remain applicable. Specific commercial terms for refunds, withdrawal rights, or similar matters still require a final standalone policy before full commercialization.

You may not use ZeroPDF for:

• Illegal or fraudulent activities.
• Violating copyright, confidentiality, data protection, or other third-party rights.
• Attempting to compromise the availability, integrity, or security of the service.
• Abusing infrastructure, automating abusive access, or bypassing technical or subscription limits.
• Distributing malware, malicious files, or harmful content.
• Obtaining unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Engineering aimed at obtaining secrets, keys, or internal mechanisms beyond what the law allows.

Responsible security research is not prohibited by this clause when it is lawful, proportionate, and reported responsibly.

The service may experience maintenance, temporary unavailability, performance degradation, or changes needed for technical, legal, security, compatibility, or improvement reasons.

ZeroPDF does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every document, browser, or device. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected with a new update date.

ZeroPDF, including its design, code, brand, proprietary content, and distinctive elements, belongs to the operator or the relevant licensors.

Third-party libraries and components keep their own licenses. User documents remain the property of the user or their respective rights holders.

To reduce risk while using the service, the user should:

• Keep the browser, operating system, and device updated.
• Protect account access, passwords, and sessions.
• Use strong passwords when protecting PDFs.
• Keep originals and backups before replacing important files.
• Review exported results before external use.
• Report vulnerabilities responsibly to support@zeropdf.app.

The service is provided with reasonable care and a focus on local processing and privacy. Even so, the operator does not guarantee compatibility with every document, workflow, or use case.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for losses resulting from use contrary to these Terms, lack of suitable backups, or reliance on unverified outputs. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Use of the service is also subject to the Privacy and Cookies pages, which separately explain data handling, authentication technologies, local storage, and service measurement. /privacy & /cookies.

The operator is established in Portugal. These Terms are governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to mandatory rules that may apply to the user.

Before escalating a dispute, the user should contact support to allow a reasonable attempt at resolution. Applicable consumer dispute mechanisms will be respected where required.
